I’ve seen so many mentions of America 250 and some really incredible pages, banners, posters, flags and t-shirts made of ancestors that served in the Revolutionary War.
With the timing coinciding with the upcoming 250th, I thought that I would go back and research the ancestors that I have to determine those that did serve in the Revolutionary War. Yes, I did go down the rabbit hole, but it was worth it.

This is a picture of the grave marker of one of my ancestors. I found this a few years ago and have had it in my family files for years. I just never thought to use it…until now!
Since my first book is technically about the ancestors of my grandfather, I went back and surprisingly (so far), I have found ten different ancestors that were part of the Revolutionary War.
Digging a little deeper, and extending the family branches outward, okay, in-laws of ancestors, I found two signers of the Declaration of Independence and one signer of the Constitution of the United States. I just thought it worthy of future generations to include those people in my research.
For the last couple of days, I’ve gone and made the above grave marker the profile picture of the Revolutionary War ancestor for ease of reference to find them. I have a separate list going so that I can add their dates of birth and death, the state they served and if found their DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) identification number.
I will add more in a future post!
