Olives and Moss

July is a distant memory, work was super busy! I pretty much was in constant contact with our CPA, and various other’s as the main partners of my employer decided it was time for the company to be acquired.

I’m going to try and recap the month in pictures! At the very end of June in order to commemorate the 4th of July, various tall ships passed through the C & D Canal heading to New York. I got a few pictures of them.

The first is the Tall Ship Lynx. The ship is an interpretation of an actual privateer built in 1812.

This is the Tall Ship HMS Gladan, a 40-meter (129 foot) topsail schooner built in Sweden in 1947,  used to train Swedish Naval Cadets.

I also had a picture of the Tall Ship Elissa, I thought that I had deleted it and luckily I did manage to recoup the photo. The tall ship Elissa is a three-masted barque. Based in Galveston, Texas, she is one of the oldest ships sailing today. Launched in 1877, she is now a museum ship at the Galveston Historic Seaport and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1990.

Of course we had the Wallenius Wilhelmsen, a Sweden/Norway-based global RORO (Roll off/Roll on) shipping company transporting cars, trucks and other large items.
