Olives and Moss

I managed to squeeze out some time at the beginning of the month to run another draft of my Family History book. One thing that stood out to me almost immediately was the layout made it look like a textbook. I wanted to be able to incorporate pictures where I wanted them to be and it just didn’t have that look. So I’ve made the decision to change the layout from portrait to landscape. It will definitely take some time to format the changes, but I think it will be worthwhile in the end!

Mergers and Acquisitions- how to explain this one? My employer and a few other shareholders started their company in 2006. I’ve been working for them for 19 years, so of course, being acquired is a new thing. It’ll be fine they said, nothing is going to change they said, everything will be the same they said! And now! Yes, things are changing. I’ve never been on so many calls in the last few weeks getting to know the “Team”.

The hummingbirds have been voracious the last 3 weeks. I think they are really stocking up on feeding before they fly south. They were a little late arriving this year, and I would mainly see one or two in the early morning and early evening. The most I have seen now is 6 at one time. And it’s not just in the morning and at night, it’s all day long. That’s pretty amazing seeing them drinking, chirping and dive bombing right in front of. Fearless little buggers!

We had a birthday this month, the grandson turned 8! My daughter did an amazing job turning a store bought cake into a masterpiece and incorporated everything that he currently likes! Roblox and countries! He can name every country and point out the country’s flag. I’m no geography major, but that is one amazing skill!

We did make it back down to the shore for another 4 day weekend. Again, the relaxation was worth a million bucks! Planning on another quick hit over Labor Day Weekend! Crap! That means that summer is almost over!
